  • Arman has won a prestigious international UIPA scholarship, and will join spectre in 2024. He will be supervised by Murad and A/Prof. Jon Beves.

  • Murad has been awarded the 2023 RACI Physical Chemistry Lectureship. He will use the award to give seminars at universities around Australia.

  • Spectre has collaborated with Prof. Timothy Schmidt to win funding for new laser spectroscopy equipment from the Australian Research Council. More details here

Recent Highlights

  • In the past we demonstrated that triplet-pair excitons can be generated by two qualitatively different mechanisms. In this experimental paper we demonstrate that both mechanisms coexist in a single sample.

    Anisotropic Multiexciton Quintet and Triplet Dynamics in Singlet Fission via Pulsed Electron Spin Resonance, JACS, 2023 (Full paper)

    This was a collaboration with the McCamey, Campos, and Sfeir groups.

  • Inspired by our collaborators’ theoretical studies, we have applied techniques from open quantum systems research to show that intersystem crossing of triplet pairs generated by singlet fission can be driven by exchange fluctuations.

    This was a collaboration with the McCamey and Cole groups.

  • Led by recent graduate, Dr Abhinav Sharma, we have re-addressed the efficiency limits of hot carrier solar cells to account for practical considerations. This article was selected as an Editor’s Selection
